Aged writs

Aged writs

What is an aged writ?

When writs cannot be enforced and are written off as 'abortive', often a client feels they have nowhere to go. A customer may not be found in some instances. These cases will be excluded from insolvency due to the costs involved, making it very difficult to recover revenue.

Judgments do however have a lifespan of six years, and this period is often needed in these instances to allow the enforcement process to work. We might not be able to enforce the writ today, but during this six year window there are numerous opportunities to recoup the required revenue in the future through revisiting the writ regularly.

How can Marston help?

When a customer has moved address they will automatically reappear on our tracing system. Our tracing and investigation division is equipped to locate these customers so that enforcement can be continued.
